Recognizing Purpose.

WriteWay announces the release of Author Hank Van Joslin’s children’s book, Drakfee the Friendly Snake. This story reflects on understanding acceptance and purpose in God’s created order. The main character is Drakfee, a curious and friendly little snake and his near encounter with school children. The story is charmingly illustrated by the author’s granddaughter, Kalleigh Joslin-Termeer. Hank is a storyteller with a purpose of his own: to help children (and parents) better understand and appreciate God’s creatures.

    ABOUT THE AUTHOR

    A Christian and Nature Enthusiast.

    From early childhood, Hank has had a keen interest in reptiles and amphibians. As a lifelong herpetology hobbyist, he has researched, kept, and bred several species. Over the past years, he has focused on introducing the often misunderstood snake for what it truly is—one of the beautiful creatures God created for His purpose.

    Hank also is the founding director of RACER (Reptile & Amphibian Certification Education Resources), whose purpose is to promote husbandry education of reptiles and amphibians prior to their acquisition as pets. RACER also serves as an advisor to Primal Healing’s Herpetotherapy program, an organization pioneering alternative mental healing using reptiles and amphibians.

    Proud father of three and grandfather to nine, he and his “lovely bride” live in Texas with their three dogs and a group of friendly snakes.
